The new submission rules.

As the title suggests, these are the submission rules. These rules overrule all previous rules, and are the guidelines the club will follow from this point onwards.

There will now be two ways to submit to the club. I will get on to that in a moment.

The big change is that all submissions will now be added to the club gallery, and not just the club favourites.




Submission method one
Send a note entitled 'submission' to the club, with a thumbnail of the image you want submitted, with the following text:

_{'I give permission to portraitclub to submit this image to the club gallery. I do not forfeit my ownership or rights over this image/work, but grant portraitclub a limited license to display my work in the previously stated manner, as well as in journals and news articles within deviantArt'}

If you do not copy and paste that text into your submission request; your submission cannot, and will not, be accepted. This is to keep the club within the rules, and to protect your rights over your own work.





Submission method two
The second method of submission is for those of you who wish to have greater protection on your work. You edit your image to include a watermark stating that it is a club submission, and then you e-mail the edited submission to portraitclub@hotmail.co.uk .

As with the note submission system, you also have to include the following:

If you do not copy and paste that text into your submission request; your submission cannot, and will not, be accepted. This is to keep the club within the rules, and to protect your rights over your own work.

When submitting my e-mail, please include your dA user-name and a link to the original image. This is vital, as without this information we cannot link back to you.





What is accepted?

This isn't really changing from how it has always been, because this works fine as it has been. I am only changing what I think needs changing, not for the sake of changing things!

All subjects must be human.
All forms of high quality portraiture are accepted.
Artistic nude is accepted. Please note, the use of the word 'artistic'. This is up to my discretion, and my word is final. Decisions are not debatable.
The subject must be the main focus of the image.
The image must show at least half the face and at least one eye. The eye may be open or closed.
The face most be in focus. Soft focus is fine; a blurred face will not be considered a portrait.
Submissions may be photographs, drawings or digital art.
Images that have been retouched are fine; however photographic manipulations will be declined as there are many other wonderful clubs more suited for this art genre.

EDIT: Any image currently in the club favourites may be resubmitted to be included the new system of being in the gallery. You don't have to resubmit, but you can. Send lovely submissions!


Edit Two If you are found favouriting the club submissions, instead of being noted (because that seems to have no effect), you will be blocked for about ten seconds. This will remove the favourites from your favourites collection, and will also remove the club from your watch list.
