UPDATE!
The Critique Pool will officially be opened on Monday 22nd.  That's roughly a week from now. You may send in ONE portrait photo of yours to receive critiques. Submitting and critiquing will run parallel - so you can submit and start commenting at the same time!
There's no deadline as such for now - let's see how it goes ;)

Now, please please please help us making this project a huge success! Spread the word, mention it in your journal and to your friends - if you're part of other groups who have similar projects maybe you can also let the admins know... the more critique-junkies we get, the bigger the chance you'll receive great comments! :)

-------------------------------------
Next big project of the PortraitClub is going to be critique-related. In a few days (we'll update this journal when it's time, expect a week or two) we will open up the Critique Pool to EVERY member. That’s right – everyone who would like to receive a critique can submit to this folder. Our Squad but also our members (and we truly hope many of you are going to participate) are then going to share their thoughts on these photos.

For every TWO critiques PortraitClub is going to feature ONE artwork of the critic’s choice in the club journal.
All you have to do is send the club a note with the links to the critiques you gave and artwork of yours you’d like to see featured.

Please write a substantial (!) critique – try to include technical aspects AND subjective aspects and explain your thoughts. Share how you feel. Analyse.
This will not only help the people you critique it will also help yourself grow as an artist. Studying different styles is always a good way to learn. Even if you’re not savvy on things such as depth of field, shutter speed, ISO and rule-of-thirds – I’m sure you will still find a way to communicate your thoughts.
Here’s some brilliant examples of great critiques, written by members of our Critique Squad:

Now, while everyone is allowed to submit photos to the Pool, we think it would be a nice thing if those who submit their work also gave critiques themselves. We believe it’s only polite to do so. Of course the journal-feature-offer applies to everyone – you can participate in every way, by submitting a photo, giving critiques and getting featured.

We'll let regular submissions open during the submission of Critiquables but we might close them afterwards for a week to sort through the to-feature-photos. The features will be collected, you'll get notified once the journal with your photo is up.

It's one critiquable photo submission per member! Photos with 2 critiques will be removed from the Pool to give unnoticed ones a better chance :)

If you have any questions about this project, please ask at any time! It's a first for us, as well, and we really hope you're all going to participate. And if you have some time on your hands it would be brilliant if you could help us promote this project! A quick journal entry or heads-up to someone you know who's looking for critiques and in-depth-comments... spread the word! :aww:

Hope you like this idea - let us know if you have any further suggestions ;)
